The Mental Health Facts infographic was created by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

Although 1 in 5 children ages 13-18 have, or will have, a serious mental illness and suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death in youth ages 10-24, people don't often get treatment until about 8-10 years after they start having trouble.

Fortunately, becoming familiar with the warning signs of mental health difficulties can help parents be proactive with making positive changes in their child's life. If you notice warning signs in your child, or are unsure whether or not you should be concerned, contact Dr. Patty for a consultation to discuss whether therapy services will be helpful and see what other resources may be available.
